1. Who can apply to be registered under BoVEA?
Answer:
Application is only open to Citizen and Permanent residents of Brunei Darussalam who has obtained relevant qualification and completed practical training as a Valuer or Estate Agent recognized by BoVEA.
2. I have no educational qualification besides my O'Levels but I have been working as a Technical Assistant in a Property Consultancy Firm for more than 10 years. Can I register as a member of BoVEA, if yes, as what?
Answer:
You can apply to be registered under BoVEA under the Certified Technician Level and gradually upgrade your membership to a higher level by attending short courses or the HNTeC course that are run under the School of Building Technology Services.
3. I just completed my degree in Real Estate, can I be a registered Valuer straight away?
Answer:
You need to submit a report of at least 2 years' professional training / local experience under the supervision of a certified registered Valuer along with your degree in order to qualify to be considered as a registered Valuer under BoVEA.
4. What is Continuing Professional Education (CPE) points?
Answer:
Continuing Professional Education (CPE) points encompasses the overall process of facilitation to acquire and broaden all related property market industry skills, knowledge and personal qualities.
5. Why is there a need to apply for CPE points?
Answer
It is one of the criteria for the annual renewal of registration.
6. How to obtain the CPE points?
Answer:
Registered Valuers and Estate Agents are encouraged to participate in various CPE activities or events recognised by BoVEA. Refer to Appendix `A' (CPE Credit Point Table) from CPE Guidelines.
